Overview
Rosario stretches along the high banks of the Paraná river, a relaxed, cultured city where the Argentine flag was first raised in 1812. It is the birthplace of Che Guevara and Lionel Messi, and takes its football very seriously.
The best of the city is on the water. The riverside parks, beaches on the islands opposite and a strong café and bar culture make it an easy, unhurried stop between Buenos Aires and the north.
