Overview
Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the Americas, built on the ruins of the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan. It has more museums than almost any city in the world, a wonderful food scene and leafy neighbourhoods made for wandering.
It sits 2,240 metres above sea level, so take it easy on your first day.
