Overview
Prizren is Kosovo's most beautiful town, a jumble of mosques, churches and Ottoman houses on both banks of the Lumbardhi river, watched over by a hilltop fortress. Its old centre is compact, lively and easy to love.
Summer evenings are spent on the riverbank and in the cafés around Shadërvan square. In August the town fills for Dokufest, one of the region's best-known film festivals.

When to go
Late spring to early autumn is warm and lively, with Dokufest in August. Winters are cold and quiet, though the old town still has its charm.
