Overview
Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls town grew up a short walk from the falls themselves, and it's built around them: lodges, activity operators and the grand old Victoria Falls Hotel overlooking the gorge.
The Zimbabwean side has the most extensive views of the falls, best seen on the rainforest walk. Beyond the falls, there's game viewing along the Zambezi and easy access to Hwange, Zimbabwe's biggest national park.

Getting around
The town is small and walkable, though stay alert for wildlife after dark. Lodges and operators provide transfers for most activities.
Victoria Falls airport is about 20 kilometres south of town, around 20 minutes by road; Livingstone in Zambia is just across the bridge.
When to go
The falls are at their fullest from about February to May, when spray can obscure the view. August to October gives clear views and good wildlife viewing. November is hot, before the rains.
