Swim In The Marina Bay Sands Pool
Still to do
Swim to the edge of a pool 57 floors up and the water seems to pour straight into Singapore's skyline.
The adventure
Marina Bay Sands is three 55-storey towers joined at the top by a giant platform shaped like a ship, and running along it is the most famous hotel pool in the world. Slip into the warm water, swim to the far edge and the pool appears to end in mid-air, with the skyscrapers of the financial district laid out around 200 metres below.
Come late in the afternoon and stay as the light changes. The sky turns pink over the Singapore Strait, ships glitter at anchor out to sea, and the city's towers flicker on one by one. After dark you can watch the Supertrees of Gardens by the Bay glow below you, then catch the Spectra light and water show over the bay before heading to the rooftop bar for a cocktail.
Why it’s epic
- An infinity pool around 150 metres long, about three times the length of an Olympic pool.
- The SkyPark sits about 200 metres above the ground, across the tops of all three towers.
- Views over Gardens by the Bay and its Supertree Grove, lit up nightly.
- The free Spectra light and water show runs on the waterfront every evening.
What it is
The infinity pool on top of Marina Bay Sands sits 57 storeys up with views over the Singapore skyline.
How to do it
The pool is only open to hotel guests, so book a night at the hotel.
Top tip
Go for sunset, then watch the light show over the bay.
