The adventure
Swing a scissor door up, fold yourself into a seat a few inches off the road and flick the red cover off the start button. The engine behind your head fires with a bark that sets off car alarms, then settles into a hard, restless idle. Every Lamborghini since the Countach has been designed to look fast standing still, and from the driver's seat you can feel it.
Out on the road, pedestrians film you, children wave and every tunnel becomes an excuse to drop a gear. Keep going and the noise climbs to a howl that makes the whole car feel alive. For the dedicated, ownership means more than driving: a visit to the factory and museum at Sant'Agata Bolognese, track days with other owners and the agonising choice of colour. Lime green, anyone?

- Ferruccio Lamborghini, a tractor maker, founded the company in 1963 to rival Ferrari.
- The Countach, Diablo and Murciélago defined the bedroom-wall supercar for generations.
- The Diablo was the first Lamborghini production car to top 200 mph.
- The Museo Lamborghini at Sant'Agata Bolognese, near Bologna, shows classic and concept cars next to the factory.

Why it’s on my list
Lamborghini – The name just sounds exotic – it is the epitome of a super car, to me, it always has been a dream to own one.
As a kid the boyhood car posters that adorned my walls were of a Lamborghini Diablo – the angles, the lines, they were just beautiful. Looking back now, the Diablo looks a little dated, but I would still have one in a heartbeat, I would love to be the proud owner of a classic Lamborghini.
Lamborghini was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini with the aim of producing a car to compete with Italian rivals Ferrari. You can head more on the history here.
I have driven a Lamborghini on a couple of occasions, the experience is always epic, but doing a track day just isn’t the same as owning one. That is the ultimate dream
Back in 2006 I drove the Lamborghini Gallardo on a track day – excuse the terrible suit and photo!
In 2017 I had a chance to drive the brand new Lamborghini Huracan - what a beast! This car has so much power and the noise it makes is beautiful!
For now, at least, ownership will remain on the bucket list, but one day in my garage I hope to have a Lamborghini or two as well as my other boyhood bucket list dream car, the Dodge Viper.
