Follow Formula 1 Around The World For A Season

Still to do

Twenty-odd race weekends, five continents and nine months chasing the fastest circus on Earth.

Follow Formula 1 Around The World For A Season

The adventure

Following Formula 1 for a season is a world tour built around noise. It starts each spring with the cars screaming past for the first time, a sound you feel in your chest as much as hear, and the smell of hot brakes and rubber drifting over the grandstands.

From there the calendar pulls you everywhere: glamorous Monaco, where the cars thread between the barriers and the yachts; the tifosi turning Monza into a sea of red; Silverstone in a British summer; Spa's forests and climbs through Eau Rouge; the neon of Singapore's night race; the curves of Suzuka; and the passion of Interlagos. In between are airports, trains, campsites and new friends in team shirts. By the season finale under the lights of Abu Dhabi, you'll have seen the world, and the championship, unfold one weekend at a time.

Why it’s epic

  • A modern season runs to around 24 races, from March to December.
  • Monaco, Monza, Silverstone and Spa are among the oldest and most famous circuits on the calendar.
  • Night races in Singapore and Las Vegas run under floodlights through city streets.
  • The season usually ends under the lights at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

What it is

Following Formula 1 for a whole season means around 24 races across five continents.

How to do it

Plan travel around the calendar and buy tickets early for popular races.

Top tip

Grandstand tickets at smaller tracks are much cheaper.

Need to know

  • Popular races such as Silverstone, Monaco and Las Vegas sell out quickly, so buy tickets as soon as they go on sale.
  • Flights and hotels around race weekends are much more expensive, so book early or stay outside the host city.
  • Back-to-back races on different continents need careful planning around visas and travel time.

Why it’s on my list

The pinnacle of motorsport – the speed, the technology, the drivers. Everything about Formula 1 is exciting!

The experience of being at a race track, and seeing it live is incredible, the noise, the smells, the drama and the atmosphere!

One day I would love to spend an entire year, following the action around the world, at the moment, that means 21 races, in 21 countries in 9 months. What a world tour!

Maybe I would even get the opportunity to drive an F1 Car too during this incredible 9 months.
